FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We split the year into two different swim seasons for ATOMIC. We have a short course season that starts in September and runs into March. The second season is long course season, that goes from May until early August.

Swim meets occur on different days depending on the season. The IES does a wonderful job scheduling most meets on Saturdays. There are some larger championship meets in both the summer and winter that are 3-5 days long, usually a Wed-Sat or Thurs-Sun.

This also depends on the season. During the school year, practices are in the evenings. The number of practices and exact times depend on the age and level of your child. We understand how busy life can be and do our best to set practice times to work with your child's school schedule. You can view our general practice schedule under "Schedule".

We require all children signing up to be able to swim 25 yards unaided of freestyle and backstroke. If your child is not quite there yet, let us know, we have very good local swim schools we can refer you to that can propel your child in this ability. We are always excited to welcome new swimmers! Even at older ages.

Prices are based on training group: number of days/hours per week in the water. Costs are driven by pool rental fees and coaching salaries. We are classified as a for-profit swim club but we strive to operate efficiently on the smallest margin possible to ensure that ANY and EVERY athlete can join the Atomic Swim Family.
